Rules & Regulations

Club by-laws governing the conduct of all members, guests, and visitors.

The Club Rules and Regulations and these By-laws shall be read and construed as one document. These By-laws shall be considered part of the Club Rules and Regulations and apply to all Members, their spouses or companions, children, guests, and visitors at all times while on the Club premises.

1. Management

1.1. References to "Management" mean the Directors and Manager of Green House Club.

1.2. The Management is entrusted to enforce these By-laws at all times.

2. General

2.1. The Club is situated at 15 Oba Adeyinka Oyekan Avenue, on the corner of Olu Holloway Rd, Ikoyi, Nigeria.

2.2. These By-laws apply to all Members, spouses or companions, children of Members, and all guests and visitors.

2.4. Members must carry membership cards with them when on the premises. Cards must be presented upon request of Management and staff.

2.5. Members are obliged to return expired membership cards to the Club and ensure they are not used after the expiry date.

2.6. Any Member or their guest who breaks or damages Club property shall be liable for all costs necessarily incurred for repairs or replacements.

2.7. A guest must be accompanied by a Member at all times while on the Club premises unless approved in writing by the Club.

2.8. Management may require any person to leave the Club premises if Management is satisfied they are causing nuisance, annoyance, or pose a potential danger.

2.9. Members and guests shall use the Club in a manner that does not interfere with the comfort of others and does not damage Club property.

2.10. Animals and pets are strictly not allowed on the club property.

2.11. Management reserves the right to make all or part of the Club available to non-members for special events and to restrict Members' use of affected facilities during such events.

2.12. Management is the sole authority for determining hours of operation and may shut down parts of the Club for maintenance, repair, or as otherwise deemed appropriate.

3. Attire

3.1. Members, spouses or companions, children, guests, and visitors shall dress in a manner suitable to the decorum of the Club.

3.2. Dress code definitions:

  • Formal: Tie and jacket.
  • Smart Casual: Collared shirt or collared T-shirt with long trousers.
  • Casual: T-shirt with shorts.
  • Swimwear: Clothing specifically designed for swimming.

3.3. For sports or leisure activities, appropriate attire consistent with accepted norms is required.

3.4. Management reserves the right to determine if a Member's attire is appropriate and may ask any person to leave if it is not.

4. Guests

4.1. Guests may be introduced more than once a month for food and beverage facilities and approved social functions, subject to applicable guest fees.

4.2. Each Member may introduce up to five (5) guests per day when paying applicable guest fees.

4.3. Members introducing guests must enter their guest names in the guest book provided before using Club facilities.

4.4. Failure to register guests before they commence using Club facilities will result in double the normal guest fee being charged.

4.5. A Member who fails to register guests more than three (3) times within a ninety (90) day period may be subject to disciplinary action.

4.6. Members are responsible for the conduct and behaviour of their guests and any damage caused by them.

4.7. Guests may be asked to leave if their behaviour causes annoyance to other Members.

4.8. Each guest is allowed to visit the Club a maximum of five (5) times per year. After this, the guest must be nominated by six (6) fully paid Members for Management's consideration, which the Club reserves the right to refuse.

4.9. No Member shall introduce as a guest any person who has been expelled from the Club or who is no longer a Member in good standing.

4.10. Use of Club facilities by guests may be restricted from time to time by Management.

4.11. Only a Member can sign for food or beverages on behalf of a guest. Guests may not sign on behalf of their host.

4.12. Junior Dependents or Minors are not permitted to introduce any guest.

5. Domestic Helpers

5.1. Domestic helpers may be brought to the Club for the purpose of minding young children and the elderly, and shall be restricted to such areas as determined by the Club.

6. Junior Dependants & Minors

6.1. Minors may use any part of the Club premises when accompanied by an adult, except bar areas.

6.2. Minors must be accompanied by a Member at all times. That Member is fully responsible for the conduct and behaviour of the children.

6.3. Members are responsible for the behaviour of their children. Unruly behaviour may result in both Member and children being asked to leave.

6.4. Children above the age of nine (9) shall use toilet facilities appropriate to their sex.

6.5. Minors under the age of eighteen (18) will not be served alcoholic beverages or tobacco and are prohibited from entering designated bar areas.

6.6. Minors are prohibited from smoking or consuming alcoholic beverages within Club premises.

7. Social & Recreation Activities

7.1. Members and their guests may sign up in advance for social or recreation activities run by the Club.

7.2. The Club requires five (5) calendar days' notice for cancellation of social and recreation activities.

7.3. The Club reserves the right to cancel any activity should sign-up fall below the required minimum group size.

8. Car Park

8.1. Members and guests may park their vehicles within the Club premises.

8.2. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. If the car park is full, Members are advised to use the available valet service or park legally on the street.

9. Food & Beverage

9.1. The Club may require advance sign-up for food and beverage activities and special events such as Public Holidays.

9.2. The Club requires three (3) calendar days' cancellation notice for food and beverage events. The full price will be charged for late cancellations or no-shows.

9.3. Operating hours are determined by Management and are shown in the Schedule of Operating Hours available at the Club Bar.

9.4. Members must accompany their guests in the bar at all times unless approved in writing by the Club.

9.5. Only items on the approved menus will be prepared and served at Club outlets.

9.6. Last food order is thirty (30) minutes before closing time; last beverage order is fifteen (15) minutes before closing time.

9.7. Food and beverages not purchased from the Club are not allowed, except for medical purposes.

9.8. Management reserves the right to refuse service to any person who appears intoxicated or under the influence of medication.

9.9. Unruly behaviour in food and beverage outlets may result in a request to leave by security personnel.

9.10. No Member or guest shall enter areas behind the bar counter, kitchen areas, or any staff-only area.

9.11. Persons under eighteen (18) are prohibited from entering bar areas. Members must not bring domestic helpers into bar areas.

10. Swimming

10.1. The swimming pool will be open daily at times determined by the Club.

10.2. There is no lifeguard on duty. Members and guests swim at their own risk.

10.3. All pool users must shower before entering the swimming pool.

10.4. Persons suffering from infections or contagious diseases are prohibited from using the swimming pool.

10.5. No articles may be brought into the pool except training aids used under an authorised coach, or approved floatation devices in the children's pool.

10.6. No food, drinks, glass bottles, or glass vessels are allowed in or around the swimming pool area. Only beverages purchased at the Club's premises may be brought poolside in appropriate containers.

10.7. The Club shall not be responsible for any accident or fatality to Members, children, or guests while in the swimming pool or on Club premises.

10.9. Members are advised to leave the pool during thunder and lightning storms and shall do so immediately when requested by any Club official.

10.10. Professional coaches other than those engaged by the Club are not permitted to coach on Club premises.

10.11. No Minor is allowed in or around the swimming pool unless accompanied by an adult, who accepts full responsibility for the child's safety. Domestic helpers may accompany children poolside but may not enter the water.

11. Miscellaneous

11.1. Management selects, retains, supervises, and may discharge all staff, agents, and independent contractors at its sole discretion.

11.2. The Club encourages gratuity to staff on a fair basis.

11.3. No Member shall induce or attempt to induce any Club employee to leave the Club's service.

11.4. No Member shall personally reprimand or discipline any Club employee. Complaints about staff should be directed to Management in writing. Billing disputes should be directed to the Finance Department.

11.5. Club employees shall not be requested to carry out personal errands for Members or guests.

12. Lost Property

12.1. Any article of value found on the Club premises will be kept with Management. Items not claimed within three (3) months may be disposed of at Management's sole discretion.

13. Amendments

13.1. Management reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to amend these By-laws at any time and in any manner it deems appropriate.

14. Assumption of Risks & Indemnification

14.1. In consideration of membership and as a condition of using the Club facilities, each Member and each of the Member's authorised guests and visitors irrevocably agrees to bear all risks associated with the use of the Club facilities — including risks associated with the use of the car park, parking space, lightning, and other acts of God — and irrevocably agrees to release and indemnify the Club and its employees, servants, and agents from and against any and all losses, expenses, claims, demands, and causes of action of every kind for death, personal injury, property damage, or any other liability, damages, fines, or penalties (including costs, legal fees on a full indemnity basis, and settlements) resulting from, arising out of, or in any way connected with the use of the Club facilities by Members, authorised users, guests, and visitors.

15. Reciprocal & Affiliate Clubs

15.1. The Club may enter into agreements with other clubs or associations in and outside of Nigeria as it deems appropriate, providing interchange courtesies, club access, and preferred pricing on facilities for Members.
